The projected videos in Panoramic View document an earlier stage of the work. They show the projectors during the setup of the exhibition in the museum. Already positioned and switched on, they are not yet playing any video files at this point. Instead, they automatically display manufacturer-selected placeholder images — such as a tropical beach with palm trees, a mountain landscape, or Berlin’s „Museums Insel“. These images are cast into the space by mirrors hanging on strings in front of the projector lenses and move along the walls due to the air circulation in the room. This state was filmed from the point of view of each projector and is replayed in the final installation through exactly that projector: each projector shows its own point of view of the space — intermittently featuring the projected images from the other projectors as well as the filming camera itself.
